There is no doubt amongst the enthusiasts that the Elise was the car that 'saved' Lotus in the late 1990's, a fantastically engineered and designed car that had almost unique handling largely down to the strong but light chassis and great suspension set up through using a combination of Bilstein and Eibach dampers and springs, market leaders in their own right.

Since that launch the car has undergone continual development at Hethel, although the chassis design and suspension has more or less kept to the same successful script.

The Series 3 Elise, the end of the line, is representative of that success and continual development, and along with its older counterparts will now have reserved their place in British motoring history and will be 'sought after' even as a pre-owned car for many generations to come.

The final cars, as with the one offered here, has the well proved Toyota 2ZR engine with the charge cooled Magnusson R900 Supercharger which ensures smooth power delivery (217bhp) right through the rev band ensuring a fantastic drive and one which must be almost unique.
