STEP 1
Specify your model and options from the Caterham pricing and specifications list.
STEP 2
The chassis, nosecone, front and rear cycle wings begin their journey at the paint shop and arrive at the factory fully painted in your chosen colour*. The painted chassis then undergoes preparation on the production line.
It is during this time that factory-trained technicians fit the core elements of the car including the wiring loom, dashboard, gauges, scuttle panel, fuel tank, fuel lines, brake pipes, brake lines, pedal box and those all-important pedals.
On completion, the remainder of the Caterham is hand-picked and boxed up ready to depart the factory.
STEP 4
Now that your kit of components is delivered, it’s time to commence building. The Assembly Guide is designed to help you through the various stages of the build. The labelled boxes coincide with each step, enabling you to identify which box you need at any given time.
A tool kit option is available to help you complete and maintain your new Seven. Our technical team is also available to assist with any questions you might have throughout the build.
STEP 5
The final stage in making your Seven road legal is the Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) test. Our Aftersales workshops are on hand to help you with this process. On passing the IVA test, your car is eligible for registration with the DVLA.
STEP 6
On receipt of the DVLA registration documents, it’s time to hit the open road.
STEP 3
We will then be in touch to book a delivery date at a time to suit you.
The Caterham Kit range is available from 270, 310, 360 and 420 and is available in both the standard 'S3' or wide-bodied 'SV' chassis. The standard S3 chassis offers the compact lightweight dimensions that have made the Seven a legend in its 50 year history.
The SV chassis provides increased interior and luggage space due to the greater width and length of the car, making it suited for extended touring or for customers over 6'2" in height. The SV chassis also benefits from the additional stability offered by wide-track front suspension and increased range from a larger fuel tank, with only a 25kg weight penalty over the standard chassis.
