Williams Racing 2016
2016 was a fantastic season for the Williams Racing Team with plenty of class wins, new records and an out right win at Silverstone.
Henry has continued well within the Morgan challenge finishing 2nd overall for the 2nd year running narrowly missing out on the Championship by 4 points. He took new class track records at Mallory Park, Castle Combe and Anglesey missing out on setting a new one at the Silverstone GP circuit after his engine blew up. After a swift rebuild the car was back out at Anglesey winning class on the 1st day and setting a new class lap record. Unfortunately Henry had to miss the 2nd race as he had to come home to look after his family when both his son and wife were ill. Not long after this Henry and the team won the 4 cylinder race at Silverstone during the Bentley drivers club meeting, a race Henry has been going for over the last 4 years. The season finished with the 4 hour endurance race with Henry, James Carter and Tim parsons finishing 5th after 4 hours of racing and finishing 3rd in the handicap ratings.
In other racing Lawrie and the team have enjoyed looking after Chris Aubrey in the Caterham series with Chris finishing 9th in the championship. Paul did very well in the early races of the seaon but due to an accident (not his fault) did not make it out again but will be back on track next year. Tim parsons competed well in his Alfa 105 with the CSCC and will build on from this year going for a class win next year. Richard and James Carter also did well with the CSCC winning class in the FIA MGB at Spa and a 12th overall in their Morgan Plus 8 that same weekend. John Millbank in his Class B Williams prepared Morgan enjoyed some good racing until an accident at Anglesey stopped his season but is looking forward to a rebuild and getting back on track next year
